AMASS, 2021

Acting on the Margins: Arts as Social Sculpture (AMASS) is a Horizon 2020 research project involving several European institutions as well as the University of Malta.  It addresses different societal challenges through comparative and Europe-wide research and arts-based projects. The research developed new methods for assessing the societal impact of the arts.  In Malta, five projects in socially engaged arts were implemented with the support of several artists, cultural practitioners, scriptwriters, academics and NGOs. Raphael Vella is coordinator of AMASS in Malta.

The AMASS project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No. 870621.
